Step1 Pre-reading

1. Let’s talk

T: In Unit3, we learnt about good habits. We know that good habits can help us become a good student. Do you have any good habits? Let’s talk.

1. Look and say

T: Boys and girls, what can you see in the picture?

S1: I can see a lot of cars and buses.

S2: I can see many people and e-bikes.

S3: I can see a policeman.

T: Can you see some lights?

S4: Yes! I can see a red light and a green light.

T: Wow! A busy road. We can find cars, buses, policeman and traffic lights on the road. Read after me.

T: What can you see when two roads meet?(画简笔画并板书)

Ss: Crossing.

T: Right. There’s a crossing. Follow me.

T: What do we usually find at a crossing?

Ss: Traffic lights.

T:Look! This part of the road is black and white. It’s a zebra crossing. It’s for people to cross the road. Follow me.

T: At the zebra crossing, we can also find the red light and the green light. There’s usually a red man and a green man.

T: Cars are running fast on the road. Can we walk on the road?

Ss: No.

T: Right. It is not safe to walk on the road. We should walk on the pavement.
